We include engagement session in all of our wedding packages and
we have multiple reasons for doing so.
If you aren't sure if you want to get engagement portraits done we would highly recommend that you do and have them done with your wedding photographer.
Here is why...
1. We help you get used to the camera : Most people are 100% comfortable behind the camera but we promise we can help you get used to it and have a lot of fun too! It is much better to make the "getting used to it time" during an engagement session instead of during the only 20 minutes we have allotted for your portraits on your wedding day.
2. You get a variety of images : If you are anything like us we love having personal pictures hanging on our walls to make our house a home. We were excited to have our wedding portraits printed and are so glad that we have them but without our engagement images all we would have would be Robert in a tux and me in my white dress. I don't know about you, but we don't wear a giant wedding gown and tux everyday. Having our engagement portraits done gave us a huge variety. We took props that fit our interests and personalities and ended up with portraits that described out relationship and give a special everyday touch to our home.
3. Multiple Locations: This is a great opportunity to have your images taken at places that mean a lot to you but you may not be close to during your wedding. Are you regulars at a local coffee shop? That is an adorable location for an engagement session. Maybe you love your local cupcakery or maybe you met on your college campus. The couple featured in this article met in college so we went back to their old stomping grounds. The campus was gorgeous! We even found a building with the emblem on the floor. We had them sit in the middle of it and went to a balcony to get the shoot. It was really neat and totally perfect for them.
Don't be afraid to be creative with your location. If you like to go ice skating we can meet you there, if you are home bodies doing engagement sessions in your home is becoming more and more popular and can be really cute as well!
4. Get to know your photographers and vise versa : On your wedding day your photographers are always near by so it is great to feel 100% comfortable with them. Get to know each other and it will make your day run even more smoothly. We are a lot of fun and enjoy capturing your day and helping out in any way that we can.
We love knowing more about your special love story and what makes you, you! The more cute details we know the more we can be aware of those special moments that describe or capture something special about your relationship.
5. It will give you another assurance that we can capture your love just the way you imagined. : One thing you certainly do not want to have to even think twice about on your wedding day is whether or not your photographers will capture each moment for you to relive through your images. Having the opportunity to work with them through your engagement session allows you to see their work with you as the glamorous model! Having your engagement portraits that you love helps you reassure that you picked the best photographer for you on your wedding day!
6. You can use them at your wedding, for Save the Dates, slideshow, guestbook, and on your wedding website. : There are an endless number of uses for your engagement images. You can use them in a slideshow at your wedding, put them in a personalized guestbook for your guests to sign, use them for your uniquely you save the dates, share them on your wedding website, hang them up in your home, share them with your parents, or simply display them throughout your wedding decor. The list goes on and on. When you are planning a day that is celebrating your life and new marriage to each other why not have great images of the two of you in love?
